  • Teaching Preschool/ECE
  • Anita Meade
  • Deborah @ Teach Preschool
  • L.R. Knost
  • Megan Ashman

Whether you are a student enrolled in an early childhood education, or you’re a teacher actually working in an ECE classroom, you can use Pinterest to pick up some ideas for the future.

Pinterest is a social media site that functions like a virtual bulletin board. Once you create your own account, you can make a board dedicated to different topics and “pin” photos, videos and articles that you like to those boards.

Early Childhood Education teachers, students, and even parents will find a number of useful accounts they can follow on Pinterest.

Teaching Preschool/ECE

One of the top Pinterest accounts for educators is the one called Teaching Preschool/ECE, which pinned more than 300 items since launching and has more than 70,000 followers. Created by a real ECE teacher, this account features fun articles and resources that you’ll love as much as your kids do. You can find print outs that you can save and print off for use in your classes like how to use LEGO blocks in math class or learning apps that are suitable for elementary school kids.

Anita Meade

Though Anita Meade isn’t an ECE teacher, she is a mother to two young boys who loves doing arts and crafts with her sons. More than 24,000 Pinterest users follow her account because they never know what she might post and share next. Though some of her boards focus on aging gracefully, flower arranging and the work of certain artists, other boards give you ideas for projects you can do with your students. Meade often pins arts and crafts projects and supplies that are suitable for kids of all ages.

Deborah @ Teach Preschool

The Deborah behind Deborah @ Teach Preschool is Deborah J. Stewart, a teacher and the woman behind the Teach Preschool website. She created her Pinterest account in a way that is easy to follow and includes lots of new posts and pins every week. Most of her boards focus on a specific activity like creating activity boxes. Other boards include links to articles on projects that use certain materials like aluminum foil or balloons. You’ll also find boards that help you get ready to go back to school after the summer.

L.R. Knost

L.R. Knost is a writer and parent who believes in the importance of educating today’s children. Her Pinterest account is unique because it includes so many tips and photos that parents will like. More than 20,000 people follow Knost because they love viewing boards like Gentle Discipline, which offers suggestions on how to best discipline and punish kids. Though you’ll also find ideas for arts and crafts projects and working with kids at home, Knost includes some funny and adorable photos of kids too.
